Hot Pink Wedding at Red Rocks and Curtis Ballroom | Denver, Colorado

The day started off a little stressful for Blair and Kenneth; they had booked the lawn at Red Rocks for their ceremony during the winter and were never told that Global Dance Fest was scheduled for the same day!

The traffic was a bit of a mess and there was a brief soundcheck during the ceremony, but they handled it like champs and everything turned out great. The scenery was absolutely spectacular!  We took the party bus back to the Curtis Ballroom (above Comedy Works DTC), but on the way the lovely bridesmaids decided there was a tragic champagne shortage and stopped at a rather shady liquor store on the way, resulting in one of my favorite photos of the day.

There were a lot of fantastic highlights throughout the evening: the maid of honor literally flying onto the stage during her introduction, Blair’s youngest daughter vowing to “stop looking at Kenneth’s feet while he poops” during her toast… but my favorite part of the day had to be the couples’ dances.

The bride and groom obviously started out, then Blair stepped aside so Kenneth could dance with her two daughters.  Then Blair danced with her father while he sang quietly through the whole song, Kenneth danced with his aunt while laughing and crying the whole time, and finally the couple surprised Blair’s father.  He married his childhood sweetheart several years ago, but since it was a second marriage for them both they didn’t have a reception.

Blair and Kenneth decided it was about time they had an official first dance and treated them to their own song.  It may have looked like I was crying the whole time, but I swear the ceiling was leaking!  It was a fabulous evening and one that I will remember fondly.
