Small Mountain Wedding | Fraser, Colorado

Jonathan and Stephanie planned a beautiful, intimate wedding in the mountains of Colorado.  It went very smoothly- probably because this was their second time doing it!

They had reserved the date and started planning last year, but Jonathan’s grandfather fell gravely ill earlier this summer. They made the decision to hold a ceremony in his hospice room on Father’s Day so he could witness their union. I was honored to be included in that event as well,  and was especially moved by Stephanie’s willingness to, without hesitation, give up her idea of the “perfect” wedding to make sure her husband’s grandfather could be included.  It was the most touching ceremony I have ever witnessed. When he passed away less than two days later, I knew they had made the right decision and that it was something the whole family would treasure for a lifetime.

Since they had already invited other friends and family out for the original date, they decided to still have a second wedding held entirely at a beautiful cabin they rented in Fraser.  The ceremony was held on the outdoor porch and we went wandering around the large, beautiful property for formal portraits afterward.  Both weddings were thoughtful and sentimental.  Above all, they both illustrated how much these two love each other and the importance they place in family.  With such selfless and giving attitudes to start their marriage, I see great things in their future.
